As they are a mini heat pump, the heat output will reduce in very cold weather and will probably be insufficient to heat a koi pond in winter.For koi ponds, we recommend using the Thermotec Inverter heat pumps which work to -15c and can be used all year. They also have larger evaporators (fins) and so can extract more heat in cold weather. 2.
